As the concrete swallows

Fire and ash line the sky
I breathe through a tube
Synthetic demise
To bring our own end
Is the fate of the human race
Arms hail the sky
Towards the throne
A long lost world
We all faintly know
Bones, buried by earth
Nourish life-giver
Ruins decay
Life goes on

Staring into the sun
Eternal blindness
everything turns black
Transparent dreams
All I see
everlasting blackness
Descending spiraling into
An ever growing depression
Not once when evergreen gleaming
Had I ever believed in mankind
Their hallways are empty pages
These rooms contain nothing wholesome
Endlessly seeking the end to this tunnel
Hope enters my heart in their destruction
But they will triumph
And torch the last sapling of pine
Grasping the air with my empty hands
I throw myself into the fire
My body does a dance of life
And ascends into the skies divine
Dust to ash
Fall into the sky
Dusk embraces
The cold night
light into the hollows
it fades from the dying ashes
then our world goes black
fragile lives are ending
their monuments will burn
